In Ireland you can find a reasonable number of expensive luxurious hotels that range from converted castles and stately homes. The Hotels offer a facilities such as Salmon fishing, Fox hunting, and shooting can be arranged too (if you like that sort of thing). there is also horse ridding, golf and cycling and even sailing that can be done. As for indoor activities, hotels offer facilities such as swimming, sauna, and gym. Coastal Hotels offer a range of sports facilities or can helpfully point you to the right direction to venues that can. There is apart from the modern establishments you can also consider the possibility of staying at privately owned smaller hotels that offer a more comfortable homely environment. Booking
It would be wise to reserve your accommodation in advance especially if you plan to arrive in the peak season particularly if your stay coincides with a local festival. Most Hotel chains can be booked via their central reservation system.

Prices
Room rates that are advertised include service and tax charges, generally speaking prices of rooms in the Republic of Ireland are slightly lower than that in Northern Ireland. Hotels rates can vary as much as 40% depending on where and when you plan to stay. The cheapest way to stay in Ireland is by renting a self catering cottage.

Tipping
Tipping is a matter of personal choice and is not a practice that is common even when getting a good service in a grand hotel, for example. the service that people provide are considered what is paid for already, even if if someone carry's your bags to your hotel room.
