The Bank of Ireland prestigious offices are located at 2 College Green.2 College Green started life as the first purpose built parliament house in Europe. It was bought by the Irish Bank in 1800 when the Irish Parliament was dissolved. The central section of the building was creation of the Irish architect Edward Lowett Peace who sadly passed away before it was finished in 1739. Edward Peace also created the masterpiece the Great Octagonal Chamber of the House of Commons that was burnt down in 1792. attendants lead tours round the building where you can discover the coffered ceilings, eighteenth century Waterford glass chandeliers, giant tapestries of the Battle of Boyne and the Siege of Londonderry.
The present look was completed in 1808 including the transformation of the reception area of the House of Commons into a great looking cash office with a nice curved screen wall and the Foster Place annexe addition.
